July 26: Fidel Castro leads a group of 160 rebels in an attack against the military base to try and end their rule
October 6: The people who survived the attack on the military were considered guilty of attempted assassination and imprisoned
October 31: The Cuban communist party is outlawed in the country

Fidel Castro's speech during his trial in prison became an inspirational piece of writing for the other rebels

February 25: Batista becomes president of Cuba which is not good for the country
May 15: Castro is released from prison and leaves Cuba to avoid being caught and killed. Che Guevara joins his cause against the government
1956
Castro launches his war from outside of Cuba. He then starts a campaign against Batista's government
1957
With the weapons he had, Castro begins to attack oil facilities, government buildings and radio stations to get his message to Batista that his government is not good for the people

January 1: Rebel forces led by Che Guevara took control of the capitol and forced Batista to leave
January 7: Castro enters Havana and the US recognises the new Cuban government. Castro becomes prime minister of Cuba and the country begins to get better
